Communications Internship
Global Child Forum

Looking to gain valuable Communications experience?
Global Child Forum is offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

We are looking for a Communications Intern to join our team starting in August 2025. This internship will provide the opportunity to support the launch of our flagship report, The State of Children’s Rights and Business, while contributing to a variety of communications projects.

This is a unique opportunity to join a small, dedicated team working to influence the corporate sector to safeguard children’s rights worldwide. As an intern, you will gain firsthand experience in research, communications, and advocacy, helping to drive real change in how businesses address their impact on children.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary focus of the internship will be contributing to the development and launch of the State of Children’s Rights and Business report. This includes:

  • Supporting the conceptualisation and development of the report.
  • Writing and editing copy for various sections of the report.
  • Assisting in outreach efforts to contributors, including youth representatives, company leaders, and experts.
  • Providing graphic design support for report materials and communications.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of the launch event for the report.

Who We’re Looking For:

To ensure the best fit for this role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent writing skills in English (ability to produce clear, engaging content).
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of (or willingness to learn about) sustainability and children’s rights.
  • Ability to structure and manage work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Basic video editing and graphic design skills (e.g., experience with Canva, Adobe InDesign, or similar tools) are a plus.
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments with different deadlines.
  • Attention to detail – catching errors, maintaining consistency, and ensuring polished outputs.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork.

Practical Information:

The internship is unpaid.
Work will primarily take place on-site at our office in the heart of Stockholm, so applicants must arrange their own accommodation.
To be eligible, applicants must be covered by university insurance (as part of an academic programme) or be part of a work-training placement programme (e.g., through Arbetsförmedlingen).
The duration of the internship is flexible and can be discussed based on individual circumstances.

How to apply

Instead of a traditional cover letter, we ask applicants to submit:

1. A portfolio sample – an example of work they have done as part of your studies.

2. A short original written response (1-2 paragraphs) on one of the following topics (or a topic of your choice):

– How does digital technology impact children’s rights, both positively and negatively?
– How does climate change affect children, and what role can businesses play in addressing it?
– How can companies ensure their products and services are safe for children?

3. A brief statement (2-3 points) about what they hope to gain from the internship (skills, experiences, etc.).
