Strategic Relations Manager

We are now recruiting a Strategic Relations Manager to join our organization. The position is part of the Strategic Relations and Major Grants Unit at our Marketing Department, and reports to the Head of Unit for Strategic Relations and Major Grants.

The position is a temporary position (vikariat), substituting our current Strategic Relations Manager who is on leave until 2026-05-10, based at our head office in Stockholm. Start date is as soon as possible.

We Effect is a development organisation founded by the Swedish cooperative movement in 1958 to support the development of democratic organisations and societies. In our international development cooperation programmes, we are applying a human rights-based approach supporting people living in poverty to secure their rights. We Effect works in 20 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Africa through our regional offices in partnership with local CSO’s, farmer organisations, cooperative federations, and other democratic organisations. About the role

As a Strategic Relations Manager you will play a main role in developing and strengthening partnerships with the cooperative member organisations/founding companies of We Effect, with the aim to increase fundraising, joint advocacy work and other sustainable types of partnerships, all in line with We Effect’s mission and goals.

You will be ​​responsible for negotiating and developing central agreements as well as ensuring that these agreements are implemented and followed up in a good way within the organisation, and with our member organisations.

 

About you

We are looking for a person who is business-oriented and has good negotiation skills. We are happy to see that you have a background in the cooperative corporate and/or corporate sector, but also an understanding of non-profit organisations.

You are a creative, solution- and goal-oriented relationship builder who wants to drive development forward. It is essential that you are comfortable with working both independently and as a part of a team. We expect that you communicate diplomatically and are humble to ensure a good deal for all parties. Strong project leading skills are required since you will coordinate all work with your specific member organisations, both internally and externally.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships with corporates, organisations and/or insitutions.

 

Required qualifications

University degree or equivalent within a relevant field, e.g. Marketing, Sales, Development studies or similar.
5+ years of relevant working experience.
Experience of working within the cooperative corporate or corporate sector.
Experience of corporate partnerships.
Experience of working towards clearly set goals.
Strong oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English.
Merits

Knowledge or experience of working with marketing and/or communication.
Knowledge or experience of working with sustainability and/or Agenda 2030.
Experience from civil society.
A strong network in the corporate sector.
Knowledge of additional languages.
