About the Inner Development Goals (IDGs)

The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) is a not for profit and open source initiative focused on inner development. We research, collect, and communicate science-based skills and qualities that help us live purposeful, sustainable, and productive lives.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Director with primarily financial and some HR competence to join our agile team. The Operations Director will be responsible for the operational side of IDGs with overview of the finances and some growing HR questions. You will be part of the leadership team of a rapidly growing global organization.

You are a highly independent, proactive person who takes full ownership of your area of expertise. You have a strong sense of initiative and can identify opportunities to improve processes and drive growth in. Your expertise allows you to understand the value of different outcomes and you are able to use agile thinking to achieve them. Despite obstacles, you maintain a positive attitude and are able to navigate uncertainty with confidence.

Your responsibilities

Manage and lead people:

Implement and maintain capable organization functions, roles and work processes
Coordinate adherence and structures for collaboration to align with the IDG strategy within the IDG Operational team and partners
Lead and develop HR-functions like attraction, recruitment, development and contracting
Manage relationships with collaborating partners, banks, accountant, auditors, and other operational, HR-related and financial institutions
Working both strategically and hands on several parallel processes

Financial processes:

Secure, support and reporting of all financial matters and processes
Develop and implement financial and budgeting strategies to support global growth
Support in fundraising activities and applications to institutional funders
Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities, risks and ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
Update and manage structures of daily financial activities, such as invoicing, annual reporting, expense reporting etc.
Ensure compliance with Swedish financial regulations and IDG guiding principles

Good to have

If you have experience of any of the following, it is a bonus (but not a requirement);

Fundraising activities, corporate partnerships and/or sales
Human Resources or Operations Management experience
Work with leadership development and/or sustainability
Experience from working with Global NGOs or Institutions
Experience from agile startups with limited resources

Technical requirements

Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in operational or financial management with at least 3 years in a CFO/COO/CHO or similar role

About the recruitment process

You can work from our office in central Stockholm or remotely (but with CET +/- 2 hours). In our mind, this would first be a 50% of full time employment with the possibility of growing to 100%.

We are hoping for the candidate to start in April / May 2023. However we are looking for a great fit and have some flexibility.
