Are you passionate about human rights and a young professional/student at the beginning of your human rights career? Do you want to work in an international environment with colleagues all over the world? Then you might be the intern we are looking for!

We are looking for Interns in the following departments:

An internship at our Asia, Eurasia or Africa Department enables you to observe and participate in Civil Rights Defenders’ work, with a focus that suits your profile, potential and preferred development areas as well as the needs of our organisation.

As a Legal Intern, you will assist the Legal Department in their daily work to protect human rights, including monitoring and analysis of ongoing Swedish trials with an international element, among other things.

As Campaign Intern you will join the Fundraising and Marketing team in coordinating and executing fundraising activities and campaigns to support the human rights defenders we work with, and mobilize engagement and support for Civil Rights Defenders.

As Communication Intern, you will join the Communications team in planning, coordinating and executing communication activities to support the human rights defenders we work with, increase awareness about Civil Rights Defenders, and engage people to take action against human rights abuses.

As Executive Office Intern, you will join the Executive Office team, which directly supports the Executive Director and coordinates the leadership team of the organisation.

As Intern at the Methods Unit, Global Department, you will be able to undertake practical work and contribute to the development of organisational methods, processes and procedures in priority areas.

About the internship
The internship takes place at our head office in Stockholm from August to December 2024 or in accordance with your education plan. Interns are expected to be on-site at the office in Stockholm, with the possibility to work remotely if necessary.

Civil Rights Defenders only accepts interns who have an internship as part of their formal education, being during the study period or in direct connection with completed studies. The internship is full-time and unpaid, with the possibility of compensation for travel expenses.
