Islamic Relief Sweden is seeking a skilled and experienced consultant to support us in developing project proposals under the Civil Society Organisations (CSO) strategy 2025–2029.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The consultant will assist in preparing high-quality proposals in line with Sida’s guidelines and requirements. The role includes reviewing, drafting, and finalizing applications for submission by 28 of February 2025. Coordination with internal teams and incorporating relevant Sida criteria, such as alignment with the CSO strategy, development effectiveness, and financial management standards, will be key.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze Sida’s CSO strategy and application requirements.
- Collaborate with Islamic Relief Sweden’s teams to gather inputs and refine project concepts.
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured proposals tailored to Sida’s priorities in accordance with strategy for CSO development.
- Integrate best practices in gender equality, environmental sustainability, and conflict sensitivity in proposals.
SPECIAL ATTENTION/CONSIDERATIONS FOR CONSULTANTS
The consultant is expected to be able to familiarize himself with IR Sweden’s operations quickly.
You should be able to see and explain our added value as a humanitarian organization in the work with human rights and development. It is important to be interculturally communicative and good at writing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in developing proposals for Sida or similar institutional donors.
- Familiarity with Sida’s Civil Society Organisations strategy and application process.
- Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
- Experience working with Swedish civil society organizations is an advantage.
- Experience working on projects related to Africa and Asia (including the Middle East) is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
TIMELINE
The consulting engagement will commence immediately upon agreement and extend until submission of the application in late February 2025.
SCOPE AND APPLICABILITY
The employment is for a needs-based or full-time consulting assignment until the end of February. Immediate commencement. We offer a hybrid work model.
We have a collective Union agreement (the Employee Agreement between the Union and Fremia). Background checks are carried out on all new employees in accordance with our Safeguarding policy and Screening policy in the form of extracts from the police’s background checks and Screening tool. The latter is a tool that examines public digital information, various crimes, as well as suspected crimes, networks with politically exposed persons and identifies third-party risks.
COMPENSATION
Please send a quote for the assignment with your application. All costs must be covered by the amount you specify. Payment will be made monthly against reported time after validation of results by Islamic Relief Sweden and issuance of an invoice to Islamic Relief Sweden by the consultant(s) monthly.
